Francesca Anderson plays principal flute with The Folsom Lake Symphony, currently under the direction of Maestro Peter Jaffe.  Ms. Anderson holds BA and MA degrees in music performance from San Jose State University where she studied flute performance with Isabelle Chapuis.  Ms. Anderson has been an active performer and teacher in the Bay Area since 1984. She has performed with many Bay Area groups including the Monterey County Symphony, Monterey Bay Symphony, Opera San Jose, Santa Cruz Symphony, Paul Masson Summer Music Series, American Music Theatre, and Hidden Valley Opera in Carmel.  Ms. Anderson has also appeared as soloist with the Ohlone Symphony and the South Bay Youth Orchestra.  In addition to symphonic work, she has also performed many solo and chamber music concerts throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento Regions.   From 1994 to 1999 Ms. Anderson served on the staff at West Valley College in Saratoga as director of Flute Choirs for the South Bay Youth Orchestra.  From 2004 to 2005 she developed a program designed to teach music to very young children using song flutes and recorders.  The program was a great success at Almaden Preparatory School in San Jose where she taught Kindergarten through fourth grade classes.  After relocating to El Dorado Hills in 2005, Ms. Anderson has established an ardent flute studio at Tim’s Band Instrument Repair in Carmichael as well as in her home studio.  Many of Ms. Anderson’s students hold first chair positions in their school performing groups and are accepted into local honor bands and youth orchestras
